When Self Love Leads to Health and Wellness
Hey there Friend,
How are things going? Have you been practicing self love this year? I'd love to know which methods have you been incorporating and which ones seem to work best for you.
Speaking of self love, I feel there is no better way to love ones self than to invest in health and wellness. We only have one body, right? Why not treat it in the BEST way we can? Eating, drinking, exercise, mindset, prayer or meditation, seeing the right doctors for you and more... Read on to hear about Lesley* and how choosing to love and invest in herself created a new life for her.
Lesley* came to me feeling completely frustrated because she had been suffering from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and iron deficiency anemia for years. Over 30 years prior to seeing me the first time, she shared that she had been diagnosed with iron deficiency and neither her doctors could get to the root cause nor did supplements or infusions seem to correct the issue. She shared that due to the low iron, she lived a life of chronic fatigue; no matter how much she slept, she never felt well rested or energized. With the combination of having digestive issues and iron deficiency, her doctors tested her for celiac disease. She breathed a sigh of relief when she tested negative because she couldn't imagine a life without gluten. So, according to her traditional medical doctors, she could continue to eat gluten and that it was not the reason for her health issues.
I mentioned the possibility of non-celiac gluten sensitivity being the culprit of her lifelong issues as this will not show up on the tests her physicians had done and recommended she follow a gluten free food plan for a month. Because she was so ready to invest in her health and wellness, to give herself some love, AND willing to do anything, she immediately began a proper gluten free diet. The results were nothing short of AMAZING! She shared with me a month later she could not believe how quickly she improved by just eliminating gluten from her diet. The IBS resolved COMPLETELY and her iron levels were normalized for the FIRST TIME in over 30 years! Best of all - she had energy again! She began living a gluten free lifestyle because she knew the benefits of it and never wanted to return to having digestive issues or low energy again.
